Riding Club

Here you will find all of the latest news from Solihull Riding Club, including regular updates from our team to keep you in the loop. Be sure to check back regularly to see what we are up to, or to read about the latest goings on at our venue. There is always plenty going on at the riding club, as you will see for yourself by browsing through our posts.

We want to make sure that all of our visitors, both members and non-members, are kept well-informed, so if you have any questions or would like to make an enquiry, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our friendly team will be more than happy to help.

Boundary ride and Members field

The Boundary ride will be closing on Tuesday 13th October in preparation for our ODE on the 17th/18th October.

The Members field is currently closed until Tuesday 13th October as our Diddy Eventer Challenge is being held in there this Sunday 11th October. It will close again on Thursday 15th October at 12.30 in preparation for our ODE on the 17th/18th October.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Dressage at Solihull RC

We will be following the BRC and BD advice that dressage sheets should be emailed out electronically after the event. The hard copy and rosette can be posted out within the following few days, if an a5 stamped (large) SAE is received. This will not apply to our ODE’s – further information to be provided on these shortly.

Members field

Our members field is now available to hire for SRC members only – complete with dressage boards and a selection of showjumps and XC fences. However, unfortunately it will need to be closed from Tuesday 11/08 to Sunday 16/08 to set up for our Diddy eventer challenge competition. Apologies for the inconvenience. Please call the office to book.

Online entries 29/06/20

Online entries will be opening one week before each Housewives session and will close the morning before. 48 hours notice is required to cancel an online entry for Housewives or for any arena hire by emailing the Centre Manager vikki@solihullridingclub.co.uk .

All clinic entries with outside trainers and coaches are also only available via online entries. These will require 5 days notice of cancellation, as we have to notify the trainer and/move other riders times around to fill gaps and ensure the clinic is viable to run.

Tuesday evening clear round and showjumping class entries will now only be available via online entries. We will not be accepting any cash at SRC for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. In order to use SRC vouchers please email information to vikki@solihullridingclub.co.uk .

Facilities update 18/05/2020

We would like to start by saying a huge ‘thank you’ for your continued support and patience following on from the BEF statement last week.

After several meetings surrounding the re-opening of the facilities at SRC, we are finally closer to pulling together the availability of some of the areas at the Riding Club. These are spaces we feel comfortable and confident that will meet the COVID19 government guidelines.

Please bear with us whilst we make final amendments to these plans. We should have further details towards the end of this week but we hope you will be happy with the results.

Your safety is our priority, so we want to ensure that all aspects have been thoroughly covered.

On behalf all of the staff and committee at Solihull Riding Club, thanks again for your patience during these uncertain times.

BEF Statement 11/05/2020:

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Sunday, British Equestrian, in close consultation with British Dressage, British Eventing, British Showjumping and The Pony Club, is awaiting further sport sector-specific guidance from the government and DCMS.

Once we have clarification around what aspects of equestrian activity may be able to resume from Wednesday 13 May, in line with the revisions and taking into consideration regional variations, we will be in a better position to release clear and objective advice for stakeholders across the member bodies. This will be communicated as soon as is practicable, but in the meantime we thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we endeavour to provide the most up-to-date and accurate guidance for all involved in our sector.
